The Hebrew word âhebelâ is used over 30 times in the ancient collection known as "Ecclesiastes." Eugene Peterson translates the word âSmoke!â This book is a realistic portrait of life âunder the sun,â someone simply looking at the horizontal dimension of life. This section of the Scriptures has tended to be ignored, but we believe we should probe its questions. We expect that this book will either seriously trouble you, or actually resonate with your own experience.
